Organisational Background
Sarvodaya Women Welfare Society, headquartered at 16-13 Munireddy Nagar, Tirupati 517502, has worked for over two decades in community development, women’s empowerment and senior-citizen welfare. We are a registered, non-profit society committed to the Gandhian ideal of “Sarvodaya” — the welfare of all.
The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MSJE), Government of India has designated our society as a Regional Resource and Training Centre (RRTC) for Age Care under the Integrated Programme for Senior Citizens (IPSrC).
Our Mandate
As a designated RRTC, our work is structured around four interconnected mandates:
- Monitoring — independent review and field visits to NGOs funded by the Ministry.
- Technical Support — handholding NGOs on programme design, documentation and reporting.
- Training & Capacity Building — structured training for caregivers, staff and management of partner NGOs.
- Advocacy & Sensitisation — building public awareness on age-care challenges.
Regional Scope — South India
Our centre extends services across the South-Indian region, with active linkages to State Governments, district administrations, NGOs and Senior Citizen Welfare Forums in:
- Andhra Pradesh
- Telangana
- Tamil Nadu
- Karnataka
- Kerala
RRTCs are the Ministry’s on-ground partners — closer to NGOs and communities than a central authority can be. We translate national policy into local practice.
Strategic Partnerships
To deliver real impact, we collaborate with a wide network of stakeholders:
- State Departments of Social Welfare and Women & Child Development
- District administrations and local self-government bodies
- Schools, colleges and universities for inter-generational programmes
- Senior Citizens Welfare Forums & Associations
- Hospitals, geriatric clinics and palliative-care providers
- Voluntary organisations and faith-based community groups
